Touching Memory is inspired by my childhood in Barcelona, infused with the vibrant colours of the markets and seafood restaurants. of La Barceloneta. This collection is about capturing the shapes and hues of the world that shaped my perception of food and daily life.
As a child, discovering King’s Day (the night when the three kings visit children and leave them presents while they sleep) was like discovering the most important fairytale that everyone knew except me. Instead of leaving out a stocking, you left out your shoes, to confirm that you were indeed a child. On the parade they threw out sweets into the crowd. A second, regal, mystical, Christmas in January.
The photos of the framed piece are of the original ink painting, which differs to the print size available here (A3)
