18 Feb Home, Food, Table Styling
I have always told stories with objects. I like using words and drawings, but I also love creating scenarios with pieces I find around the house, in junk shops, in the woods on my runs, all alongside food and drink.
I am inspired by nostalgia, nature, mottled glass, driftwood, woven baskets, chipped enamel, melting wax, old books, rusty keys, dried flowers.
I love hosting dinner parties, and one of the elements I have focused on, as much as the food we’re serving, has been the presentation. How to create interest, levels, texture and a seasonal feel. How to create space that evokes a sense of drama, occasion and a touch of magic.
Through this interest and at times, down right obsession, I have incorporated this into my work, alongside my writing and drawing. I have created features for publications such as Heiter and Table magazine, on styling food and seasonal tables, I have shared posts on my patreon about how I host dinner parties and I now co-host Still Feast workshops with Dear Prudence Studio, where I lay a seasonal table for guests to draw and eat at.
I am also currently developing styling workshops to host from my kitchen in Hebden Bridge, alongside downloadable video styling workshops for those who are further afield.
If you would like to work with me, whether with styling a shoot or joining a workshop, please drop me an email here.
