Kitchen Table Art is all about creative play and experimenting with everyday materials we have around the house, often found in kitchens.
Whether you’re a lover of all things creative or someone who has barely been near a pencil and paper in years, these video workshops are all about looking at the world around you in a different way. The things we often take for granted are all opportunities for creative play and making art!
‘I’ve really learned to look, in a way I hadn’t thought about before.’ Julie Bithell
Inspired by my in-person studio workshops, for both grown-ups and children, I have divided the areas we cover into three videos. They are available to purchase individually or as a group of three.
This video is titled:
These workshops are all suitable for all ages at all levels of creativity.
Each video comes with an attached list of materials used throughout the workshop, but these are purely suggestions and I would encourage you to use anything else you have at your disposal.
These videos are also a reflection on the nature of creative of play, how important it is, and how often the most valuable exploration happens when the pressure is off and we are simply ‘messing about’ with inexpensive canvases and materials.
Taking the kitchen table and a curated arrangement of objects and ingredients as your still life, you’ll be encouraged to experiment freely with different materials and tools to create your own expressive responses to what you see and feel.
They are a guided opportunity to remove the pressure of an end result, take the time look at the world around you as a source of inspiration and find new creative methods in the process!
‘It was really informative and a safe space for creativity, we both really enjoyed it.’ Lyanne
